The Sandy Bay Rowing Club was formed in 1906. Located in the Hobart suburb of Sandy Bay, its facilities include a boat shed, gymnasium and club rooms that lie on the edge of the river Derwent, flowing through the city of Hobart on its way to the Southern Ocean. The Derwent River is ideal for rowing training with many of the southern Tasmanian clubs located on its shores.
